The new foXrayIIe is the latest and most advanced system of its type in the world. The enhanced foXrayIIe is the first Real-Time 10 bit (1024 grey levels) CCD based system. It offers the highest image quality in terms of dynamic range, (4 times higher than any other CCD systems), resolution (1.4lp/mm) and penetration (over 26mm of steel with XRS-3). The revolutionary foXrayIIe now uses the same software as Vidisco's flat panel imagers and is fully interchangeable with all Vidisco amorphous Silicon (a-Si) flat panels.

This near real-time system incorporates almost two decades of Vidisco experience and expertise producing cutting edge X-ray equipment.

Vidisco's experience of previous generation systems is based on a sophisticated Video Camera Unit (VCU) coupled to a laptop computer (CDU) either through a wire or a wireless system, that allows the operator to fully control the X-ray source from a safe distance.Real time imaging translates into only one approach to the target item, and instantaneous results at the press of a button - no waiting, no re-approach and no development or scanning time required. A ruggedized, waterproof carrying case on wheels houses all the components needed to operate the system, including a 50m cable on a reel and a Golden Engineering pulsed X-ray source. The Vidisco systems are the only portable X-ray units in the world that provide an operational platform or "base station", not only carrying and protecting all the components, but also providing a realistic operating platform, allowing the operator to work with the system under difficult conditions without having to remove the computer from the case. One cable connection or even a wireless accessory connects between the VCU and CDU making setup and operation of the system extremely fast and practical.

The foXrayIIe system provides the operator with an easy-to-use reliable and powerful tool to examine, detect and evaluate any object, anywhere in world. The unit is 100% portable allowing for one operator to conveniently move the system rolling the case on built-in wheels, set-up within minutes and to have an infinite amount of high quality "X-ray images upon request" within seconds. The equipment can work autonomously for hours on its internal rechargeable batteries and work for an unlimited time on any external power (110/220V automatically adjusting) or be powered by a vehicle battery when using a standard DC/AC inverter.

As with all Vidisco products, the foXrayIIe system fully supports nearly all languages supported by Windows XP. This means that menus and program interfaces (including the data base and visual library) can be in the language of the local user. The foXrayIIe system is used today in over 75 countries around the world for an almost endless scope of duties including bomb detection and disposal (EOD/IED) and as a tool for VIP Protection, in searches for drug/contraband smuggling, by customs officers, Forensics and low resolution applications in NDT (non-destructive testing).
