The Experts in Portable Digital X-ray Systems
Vidisco Ltd is a leading designer, developer and manufacturer of cutting edge portable digital X-ray systems for a quarter of a century. The company was founded in 1988 as a sub-company of Aran Electronics, specifically for the purpose of finding a portable solution in order to X-ray unexploded bomb shells in the field after “hot” military and air force training exercises. Vidisco is located in Or-Yehuda, a town in central Israel and has 40 employees.
It should come as no surprise that Vidisco is the exclusive supplier of digital X-ray systems to the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) and that we work closely with the Israeli police and IAI (Israeli Aerospace Industry). However, the majority of our sales are from international markets. Vidisco’s portable digital X-ray systems can be found in over 75 countries all over the world.
The company sells its portable X-ray systems in three markets, for use in NDT, Security and veterinary applications. Today, Vidisco continues its quest for leading digital radiography technologies, in order to maintain its position as a worldwide market leader.
25 Years of Continuous Development:
Vidisco was the first company to introduce a digital X-ray system that was portable, first with video monitors and later in the form of a PC based X-ray inspection system. Our systems revolutionized the radiography field because for the first time, X-ray images could be acquired in the field and seen on site within seconds. The instant images made it possible to conduct inspections with only one approach which increases the safety of X-ray technicians.
Vidisco continued leading the digital X-ray industry when in 2001 we incorporated the amorphous Silicon (a-Si) flat panel technology into our line of products and made it even more portable. Thin flat panels enable an increase in image quality providing 14 bit dynamic range and a smaller pixel pitch combined with superb signal-to-noise ratios (SNR). In 2003 Vidisco went further to develop its unique and exclusive FoX-Rayzor panel. This panel was thinner than an X-ray film cassette, and incorporated further advantages of minimal backscattering and suitability for work with high energy levels.
In 2004, Vidisco was the first to achieve Dual Energy colored X-ray images with a portable system and in 2008 we introduced the ground breaking XR-DE module for Dual Energy X-ray imaging with pulsed Golden X-ray sources (until then considered technically impossible). In 2007 we introduced FoXrayIIe, the world's first 10bit CCD based system. In 2010 Vidisco launched its new X / X Pro product line, which incorporated 4 types of flat panel systems in several configurations. In 2015, the new SparX system was launched as well as a line on new accessories. A decision was made to place the focus on creating the most user-oriented products based on customer feedback and expert development. All of Vidisco’s systems operate with our proprietary software, which is continually updated as we strive to incorporate the latest state of the art technology with advanced image enhancement tools into a simple and user friendly interface.
The company places emphasis on innovation and ingenuity, drawing on the vast military background and professional experience of its employees. Vidisco is one of the veteran companies to produce portable digital radiography apparatus, maintaining an excellent standard of products and great customer service in accordance with stringent QC and QA procedures and with full ISO 9001-2008 qualification.
