Vidisco at Milipol 2011

Vidisco at Milipol 2011
The Milipol Exhibition, held every other year in Paris France, is one of the largest security trade fairs worldwide. Hundreds of exhibitors from some 50 countries regularly take part in this exhibition, as well as some 28,000 visitors from over 130 countries. Vidisco has been attending these conferences for over a decade, regularly exhibiting its ever growing array of cutting-edge, portable X-ray systems
This year, Vidisco featured a new booth, the largest to date, which proved to be very popular with visitors from all over the world. Of special interest was the FlashX system offering a large-area, battery-operated flat digital panel as well as top-quality imaging within seconds.  The system features unrivalled penetration capabilities of 1mm of lead behind 80mm of steel and excellent resolution of 3.5 lp/mm behind 3 mm of steel. It is also equipped with powerful enhancement software, the company’s proprietary XBit suite

Considerable interest was also noted in Vidisco’s newly improved Slider 2 X 2: The Slider 2 X 2 is an outstanding accessory which enhances flexibility of operation of the RayzorX and more veteran FoX-Rayzor digital portable X-ray systems by auto-shifting the Imager from afar and covering an image area that is four times larger than that of the RayzorX. Four acquired images are blended into a large area image.
At Milipol, the new BlazeX portable DR X-ray system was introduced for the first time to the market. This new member of the X series includes many of the unique qualities of Vidisco’s veteran RayzorX and FlashX portable digital X-ray systems – including remarkable penetration, ruggedness, portability, battery operated, flexibility, DC pushed down the line, and specialized software – while adding a new lightweight a-Si digital flat panel with an X-ray imaging area of 260 X 320 mm (~10.2 X 12.6 inch), resolution of 3.97 lp/mm (127 µm pixel pitch), and 14 bit dynamic range.
In the course of the exhibition, France’s Sécurité Civile (Department of Civil Defense and Emergency Preparedness) offered a live demonstration at their booth involving EOD and CBRM detection using Vidisco’s FlashX DR system.
