Portable digital radiology systems are increasingly being incorporated with robots in the field. Digital portable X-ray provides optimal results at a safe distance.Military forces worldwide operate robots for intelligence purposes and safe bomb disposal in combat zones. The police use robots for IED disposal in urban areas, modes of transportation and crowded locations. 

It is clear to any entity dealing with EOD or IED disposal that X-ray inspection with a robot can only be conducted effectively with digital radiology systems.  Mounting a film cassette or CR on a robot and sending it back and forth for each single image is too time consuming, highly impractical and unsafe for the bomb tech due to significant time loss and risky guesswork.

Following extensive R&D, Vidisco has successfully achieved full integration between its digital portable X-ray systems and leading ROV manufacturers systems worldwide. Vidisco ensures that its products are compatible with the robot’s work platform and structures its digital portable X-ray systems so that they can integrate seamlessly with the robot.
 
Vidisco’s range of X-ray systems can connect to a robot in two ways:
 

 

  • Full integration – In this mode, the imager, ICU & x-ray source are operated via the robot itself, requiring less equipment by leveraging the robot’s existing communication channels.
  • Side by side – When the robot’s operation is based on analog communication and the Vidisco imager is digital, full compatibility is achieved with our  Dual WIFI X LR, a high-power wireless module that works side by side with the robot.  
The full range of Vidisco’s imagers can now work in standalone mode or incorporated with the robot’s platform whether digital or analog communication is used. A versatile Plug & Play solution is supplied to the robot, requiring only compatible software, an operation cable and a carrying arm (bracket).
