Publications and Case Studies in non-destructive-testing & home-land security

Below you will find a number of publications, case studies and white papers in non-destructive-testing & home-land security.

Naturally most of the papers are based on Vidisco products and case studies using Vidisco equipment.

1) *X-ray systems in the field. - Lieutenant Colonel Eli Bassat examines the latest x-ray systems which are giving bomb techs the edge they need over EOD and IED threats.  (As  published in the Intersec Magazine - Jan 2007)

2) ** High Resolution Digital Flat Panel Detector For NDT
Bernard Munier, J-M Casagrande, A. Koch, (Thales Electron devices, 38430 Moirans, France) V. Kaftandjian, P. Duvauchelle, D. Babot (INSA- CNDRI, 69 621 Villeurbanne, France)

 3) *** Case study:NDT X-ray Inspection with Vidisco Systems. (Power point presentation.)
Ari Diamond - General Manager - Vidisco Ltd.

4) Hebrew news cast showing results of Vidisco's Amorphous Silicon system in use with Art Restoration. The X-ray image at the end of the news cast shows a women painted beneath the viewable painting of a synagogue. (painting revealed)*****

5) Case Study: Dr. Glenn Light (Level III RT) of the Southwest Research Institute. The research was commissioned by the EPA (Environment Protection agency) of USA.Dr. Light compares working methods, time and results of NDT conducted on pipes with Iridium Isotope Energy and X-ray. He used the Vidisco foX-Rayzor system with Ir-192 Isotope source and an X-ray source.

Result Summery: X-ray can in many times replace Iridium - thus eliminating the use of radioactive energy and increasing the safety of the NDT operator. In cases where Iridium is required to penetrate thick piping the use of digital radiography in general and the Vidisco foX-Rayzor in particular has shortened the exposure time ten fold - again contributing to the safety of NDI personnel and also to the costs of the text (shorter working time means plant shutdown) and to the environment (reduced radioactive exposure).

6) Inside IEDs* - article published in Intersec Magazine issue of October 2008. Lt. Col (res) Eli Ben Bassat exaimes portable digital radiography systems and the way they answer the needs ofthe bomb tech, according to the five principles (the Bible) of detection adn disposal work.

Translations of the same article in: Chinese, Thai, Spanish

7) See the Unseen: Case study published in the German Fire Fighters and Bomb Techs education Associaltion Magazine "Mitteilungen". Portable X-ray inspection systems and the extra edge thye give to the bomb tech - saving lives! (text in German).

8) With X-ray Eyes* - article published in Intersec Magazine issue f June 2009. Eliyahu Dayan reviews the working methods of EOD teams using robots and discusses the advantages of the latest X-ray technologies for teams in the field.
